Do Massage Therapists like when you talk?

February 21, 2024

Honestly we do not care. Or, we shouldn’t.

Sometimes at the end of a long week, I get a little chatty but if someone were to ask me to be quiet I would understand.

We do not require anything from you but honesty about your health and communication about what is and isn’t comfortable for you.
We are trained that conversation is not ours to initiate or perpetuate for the sake of our personal social needs.

Some people need to talk when they receive massage, some people need to be silent. You don’t need to do or say anything to help the massage therapist feel more comfortable.

I often take it as a sign of relaxation when the chatty people settle down into the comfort of silence.

Talk all you want. Or as little as you want. It’s your time.

I don’t mind either way.
